Primary health care development: Community Engagement has been identified as one of the best strategy towards achieving wider coverage of routine immunization in northern part of the country.
The Sarkin Sudan of Sokoto, Alhaji Kabiru Chigari Alhassan gave the indication at a dinner organized by Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency to mark the end of a three-day working visit held at emergency Operation Centre in Bauchi.
Alhaji Kabiru Alhassan who led a delegation to the state, said Bauchi has gone far in engaging communities to achieve wider immunization coverage, hence the need for the delegation to embark on such a visit.
He said the fight against child killer diseases was a collective responsibility and called on parents to ensure that their children

were fully immunized for the overall development of the country.
The Chairman Bauchi State Emirates Committee on Health, BASECOH, who is also the Emir of Dass, Alhaji Usman Bilyaminu Othman represented by Sarkin Kudun Dass, Alhaji Nasiru Bilyaminu Othman said the visit was an educative one and reiterated commitment to share experience with any state on health related issues.

The Executive Chairman Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Adamu Ibrahim Gamawa represented by Director Planning Research and Statistics in the Agency, Alhaji Ibrahim Jama’are said the community engagement strategy adopted was borne out of the state’s resolve to fight child killer disease.
Adamu Gamawa appreciated the delegation for identifying the state on the good work it was doing in the area of routine immunization and assured to do more for other states to emulate.
