
Offa Robbery Update: The Senate president (Dr. Bukola Saraki) was invited to answer to allegations surrounding his links to the armed robbers behind the deadly robbery in April. Jimoh Moshood, the force public relations officer disclosed this in Abuja on Sunday, June 3, while parading 22 suspects in custody for the robbery. According to Moshood, Saraki will be interrogated over his relationship with the suspects arrested in connection with the robbery The Nigeria Police Force released a statement in a tweet below.

He also announced the arrest of Mr. Yusuf Abdulwahab, the chief of staff to Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed and Alabi Olalekan, his personal assistant, political, as investigations over the gruesome robbery deepened.

Nine policemen and 33 persons including two pregnant women were killed and millions of naira stolen during the April 5, Offa bank robbery stunned Nigeria. Ayodele, one of the suspects and acclaimed leader of the robbery gang was reported to have alleged that they were political thugs of Saraki and have been working for him since when he was governor of Kwara state. The news outlet reports further that Ayodele said they were not working on the instruction of Saraki but they worked with his encouragement.

The Senate president is to report to the Louis Edet House, police force headquarters in Abuja for questioning though the spokesman did not indicated when the Saraki is expected appear.
Meanwhile, Michael Adikwu, a dismissed policeman who was arrested after being declared wanted in connection with the April 5 bank robbery in Offa, Kwara state, where over 30 persons lost their lives, revealed why he organised the attack.
